DECISION MAKING AND THE SUCCESS OF

CIVILIZATIONS

All great civilizations make decisions. Those that succeed make the

right ones. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jared Diamond researched

the role that choice played in either the collapse or resilience of

societies.1 He concluded that crucial to success was not only action,

it was right action. But how do we choose the right action? Through

understanding what type of decision making dominates our choices,

why we make the decisions we do, and how to make them better,

we move toward successful response to climate change.
