Current status of general education outcome assessment and the establishment of an assessment system in mainland China

Over the twentieth century, with rapid social development and globalization, countries all over the world have made a commitment to reforming their higher education systems. This trend is propelling university general education (GE), fostering individual talents who can adapt to the rapidly changing world. Thus, GE has become an important part of education reform and development in higher education across the globe.
