ABSTRACT
During the initial assessment, Joan was rated as moderately to severely depressed: she reported using alcohol as a way of coping with her difficulties. Joan said that she heard three voices (two male, one female), which she found very distressing. They were described as extremely loud, often shouting and almost continuous.
