ABSTRACT
Are there theories that can be used to explain and predict US-China relations? This chapter looks at power transitions and US-China relations from a theoretical perspective. Theories and historical lessons are powerful tools that are, if applied properly, constructive for managing today’s complicated bilateral relations between the world’s fastest growing power and the world’s only superpower in the course of a global power shift.
