ABSTRACT
In 2000, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched the joint Programme on Globalization, Liberalization and Sustainable Human Development. The central objective of the Programme, which concluded in 2005, was to help promote more effective integration of developing countries into the global economy.
