ABSTRACT

The New Testament writings provide us with various views of Jesus. From the epistles of Paul to Revelation, we encounter many different interpretations of Jesus and his life. Unfortunately, as the centuries of institutionalized Christian hegemony indelibly affected both the social and religious sensibilities of the West, a proper understanding of the Bible became increasingly more difficult. Church councils and Imperial Diets dictated the official view of Jesus, while the scriptures themselves were clouded in a veil of secrecy.
