ABSTRACT

These recommendations were compiled from published data and from recent studies presented at the 8th International Symposium on GnRH Analogues in Cancer and Human Reproduction, February 2005. The recommendations were drawn up by William Ledger and Bruno Lunenfeld following a consensus meeting held during this Symposium, and they represent an update on previous recommendations and guidelines in this area of practice. The recommendations address three areas, covering the use of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists and antagonists in treatment regimens for in vitro fertilization (IVF), ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination (IUI); inevitably, the majority of the evidence derives from IVF studies.
