ABSTRACT

Modern MDCT technology is used in a wide range of routine and emerging cardiovascular applications. Cardiovascular CT is complementary to other cardiovascular imaging modalities, including echocardiography (transthoracic, transesophageal, 3-D), a wide range of nuclear medicine techniques, angiographic techniques, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound (US). The decision to utilize a particular modality should be based on the precise clinical question.
