ABSTRACT
The frequency of complications mainly depends on the clinical setting in which the interventions are performed. Emergency interventions for ruptured aortic aneurysm still carry a high mortality risk of between 15 and 50%. In contrast, elective peripheral angioplasties can be done with complication rates below 1%. Table 1.1 gives an overview on the frequency of complications after elective angioplasty procedures.1
