The complications of CRT can be roughly divided into those associated with the implantation procedure and those arising during chronic therapy.

General remarks

The risks associated with the implantation procedure may be classified as the general risks, i.e., those associated with anesthesia, device

implantation (pacemaker or ICD), right-sided lead placement, and defibrillation threshold testing, and the specific risks of CRT, i.e., those associated with left ventricular (LV) lead implantation. A summary of the different risks is shown in Table 13.1.
