It was estimated that by the year 2006 1.4 million people would be diagnosed with cancer in the United States, of which 49% would be women.1 It was estimated that 8% of these women would be under the age of 40.1-3 With modern improvements in treatment regimens, which include aggressive chemo-and radiotherapy, as well as bone marrow transplantation, cure rates can exceed 90%.4
