Introduction Bladder cancer is the second most common genitourinary malignancy, with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) comprising nearly 90% of all primary bladder cancers. Although the majority of patients present with superficial bladder tumors, 20% to 40% either present with or develop invasive disease.1
