ABSTRACT
The eccrine sweat glands are simple tubular glands that assist in thermoregulation of the body by compensating for heat production through evaporative water loss. They are also excretory organs that remove urea, ammonia, free amino acids, drugs, and proteolytic enzymes from the tissues.
