ABSTRACT
In the course of aging, the face and neck change their morphology and appearance dramatically. Aging concerns all tissue layers composing the face and neck: the skin primarily but also the fatty masses, the musculoaponeurotic system, and the bony foundations. All levels of the face are concerned. According to the type of skin, morphotype, and exposure to certain predisposing factors, the different constituents and elements of the face will not age equally. Treatment of the esthetic consequences of aging has become an important part of medicine and plastic surgery.
