ABSTRACT
As far as compression members are concerned, the effects of AAR on compression members are likely to be minimal or controllable, provided there is sufficient link steel to ensure that cracking is controlled. Concrete in compression acts as a highly redundant material that even in the presence of extensive cracking, can continue to sustain considerable compressive stresses.
