ABSTRACT
Extractive industries extract mineral products present in their natural state, either as solids (coal and minerals), liquids (oil) or gases (natural gas). These products can be extracted in a variety of different ways, such as by underground or opencast mining, by digging wells or by extracting them from the seabed. Two types of raw material are extracted-hydrocarbons and minerals.
