The influence of sealing abandoned areas on climatic conditions in the room and pillar extraction method in copper mining

One of the factors which has influence on mining profitability of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. is presently connected with opening out deeper parts of the deposit. At present extraction of the copper ore deposit is carried out at depths of between 600 and 1200 m and excavating deeper and deeper parts of the deposit depends on availability of technical means and efficiency of undertaken prophylactic activities to reduce the influence of natural hazards and doing so ensure miners work safety.
