ABSTRACT
In the two previous Chapters, we discussed the ways ahead for rock engineering design methodologies and we presented two updated flowcharts for rock mechanics modelling and rock engineering design, together with three case example illustrations of their use. In this follow-on Chapter, we now discuss how the necessary quality and quantity of the supporting information can be established. We discuss the principles and provide two rock slope case examples illustrating the different types of information that may be required.
