ABSTRACT
A conclusion follows from, or is entailed by, the premisses of an argument just when it is impossible for the premisses to be true and the conclusion false. But a contradiction will entail any conclusion, since it is impossible for a contradiction to be true; a necessary conclusion will be entailed by any premisses, since it is impossible for a necessary conclusion to be false.
