ABSTRACT

In the darkness of the screening room we stay blind for everything but what is on the screen. I would dare to say that in films, what we see does not count, however paradoxical it may sound. Film experience addresses a ‘blind man's sense’ in a viewer. In films we ‘see’ the crime behind the beauty, and beauty behind the horror. We see and perceive, watching films, the lie of the obvious, fragility of power and strength, and wisdom of the casual, illogical and accidental.
