ABSTRACT
Effective mathematics teachers seldom work alone. Many engage as part of professional learning and other communities—a mathematics education community, a school community, a classroom community, and a local community. Effective teachers participate in these communities to provide and elicit support to enhance and provide effective instruction for all students, including ELLs.
