ABSTRACT
So far, we have given an overview of cognitive function in schizophrenia and identified a broad range of cognitive deficits. If we are to develop cognitive remediation programmes, we need a clear and detailed understanding of the nature of deficits in each area of cognitive processing and of the links between various deficits. This may help us to develop a more parsimonious account of cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia.
