ABSTRACT
Masking agents are drugs that do not possess performance-enhancing properties
but are taken in an attempt to disguise the fact that other prohibited substances
are being used. Athletes quickly realised the potential for this type of subterfuge;
therefore these drugs have been used for as long as athletes have been subject to
drug testing.
