ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter explores two main themes in two separate sections. The first section explores some of the challenges involved in the diagnosis of complex developmental disorders such as specific language impairment (SLI), developmental dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The second section considers the issue of comorbidity between developmental disorders, and discusses the various models that have been proposed to explain potential overlap.
