ABSTRACT
Renewed discussions of holistic approaches to psychology in an effort to create theoretical syntheses (see Diriwächter & Valsiner, 2008) should help contribute to the ongoing endeavors to incorporate qualitative mathematical models for the social sciences. In this chapter, I let one such holistic approach-Ganzheitspsychologieguide my discussion about the importance of considering underlying structures for theory construction.1
