ABSTRACT
Winston Churchill served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II and is known as an outstanding wartime leader. He actively opposed Hitler from the beginning of the German aggression and imposed his imagination and will on the British public to defeat Nazi Germany and the Axis powers. He was also an offi cer in the British Army, a war correspondent, writer, historian, statesman, orator, and fi lled many other top level government positions. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953 and was the fi rst person to be granted honorary citizenship in the United States.
