ABSTRACT
As set out in the introductory chapter, globalization implies a growing uniformity between regions as well as a new emphasis on and exploitation of regional diversity. This volume has explored this complex interrelation with respect to one specific segment of the emerging global information society: multimedia production. In this chapter, we will summarize what the contributions to this volume (and some additional research) add to an understanding of the relationship between diversity and uniformity.
