ABSTRACT

It is fitting that one of the final chapters be devoted to the concept of universal design for learning since it encapsulates many of the principles traversed in the earlier chapters. In particular, it relates closely to Strategy 16: Assistive technology, Strategy 19: Quality of the physical environment, as well as to Strategy 27: Opportunities to learn, and Strategy 25: Inclusive education. As such, it may be more appropriate to refer to it as a ‘framework’, rather than a ‘strategy’, as one of my readers suggested.
