ABSTRACT

The Irish banking problem is complicated by several features which are the result of Irish conditions before the passing of the Free State Act. There are roughly three different main classes of banks in the countrythose operating mainly in the Free State, those with their centre of interest in Northern Ireland, and two controlled from London, but with their activities to a great extent in Ireland.
