ABSTRACT
Since late 2003, Bianca Jagger, 1960s bad girl, fashion icon, fi rst wife of ageless rocker Mick Jagger, and human rights activist, has been a Goodwill Ambassador in the Council of Europe’s fi ght against the death penalty. Her main target has been the United States. The Council of Europe, established in the immediate wake of World War II, is now a 47 member regional organization opposed by charter to the death penalty. No member country has employed the death penalty since the late 1990s.
