A limerick is a humorous five-line poem with a particular pattern, first made popular by the nineteenth-century poet Edward Lear.
Lines 1 and 2 are longer lines that end with a rhyme.
Lines 3 and 4 are shorter lines that end with a different rhyme.
Line 5 is another longer line which rhymes with lines 1 and 2.
