If CCS is to become a viable tool for greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions, signifi cant investments in infrastructure will be necessary, including in the development of a CO
pipeline from source to sequestration sites will be crucial to the deployment of large-scale CCS projects. In the US today, there are both point-to-point CO
pipelines, delivering CO 2 from a single CO
CO 2 pipeline networks that collect CO
multiple locations spread across several states. These pipelines were built to support CO
Figure 3.1 shows the locations o f the existing US CO 2 pipeline infrastructure.
