ABSTRACT

Ken is an associate dean of faculty working to establish a branch campus for his university’s business school in Saudi Arabia. He recognizes that this is the culmination of much earlier work by the university to be a pioneer in international education. Because of the significant work of other change agents, the formation of the branch campus is a first-order change for this campus. However, it will still require work at multiple levels (among individuals, groups, and the overall institution) and several foci, re-examining structures, processes, and attitudes (in this case, only minorly). The content of the change initiative raises few political red flags on this campus and is well aligned to strategic plans.
