ABSTRACT

The following texts are recommended for those seeking an introduction to the notion of the postmodern condition: Baudrillard (1988), Bauman (1991, 1993), Harvey (1989) and Lyotard (1984). Rosenau (1992) is essential reading on the relationship of postmodernity to the social sciences. Both Davis (1990) and Young (1999) provide rather different accounts of contemporary post-industrial societies and the significance for criminology. Henry and Milovanovic (1994, 1996, 1999) are the doyens of constitutive criminology and these texts give a thorough introduction to the theory and its applications. Ferrell (1994, 1995a, 1995b) should likewise be consulted on anarchist criminology.
