ABSTRACT
Quinney – like many of the later radical criminologists – paid a good deal of attention to the role of the mass media in shaping the way in which people perceive crime. He observed that both crime and non-crime definitions are spread throughout the media. With their pervasive effect, the media select and construct a commonly held view of reality where certain actions are naturally crimes and others non-crimes.
