ABSTRACT

This book has used the phenomenon of the ‘new’ London squares to explore the dominant critiques of public space by gauging if and how they relate to the design, development, use and management of contemporary public spaces in London. Drawing on the evidence provided by the scholarly and empirical work presented throughout the book and brought together in Chapter 11, this final chapter discusses what it reveals about the ‘critiques’ and ‘counter-arguments’ presented in Chapter 1.
