ABSTRACT
Greenhouse gas emissions associated with the buildings in which we live and work are a major contributor to global warming and climate change. Around the world, buildings are responsible for between 40 and 50 per cent of global energy consumption (Taylor Oppenheim Architects, Lincolne Scott Australia et al., 2005).
