Championing the teaching and learning of time
This chapter aims to explore the features of ‘deep subject knowledge’ and ‘pedagogical knowledge’ in the context of time, to support your work with children and colleagues. Within the subject knowledge section key mathematical ideas will be identiﬁ ed, followed by a consideration of progression within time. Connections to other mathematical ideas and aspects of using and applying mathematics will be discussed. Finally, the pedagogy section will explore classroom applications, followed by scenarios for mentoring and coaching.
