ABSTRACT
Cultural tourism is one of the most rapidly growing forms of tourism. Tourism is considered to be an important factor in regional and local economic development, whereas culture is often considered to be a sector that requires subsidies. This view has been countered by various analyses of the economic impact of culture, which have shown that culture is an important factor for supporting domestic and international tourism and a generator of economic growth of tourist destinations.
