ABSTRACT
The introductory talk should be very short. Museums still sometimes get asked by unimaginative teachers to provide ‘a general tour’. Such requests should be discouraged, since the children will learn little. Instead, the museum staff should discuss with the teacher more effective ways of using the children’s precious time in the museum.
