ABSTRACT

According to the provisions of the Bali Action Plan adopted by the Conference of the Parties (COP) at its thirteenth session in December 2007, it was decided that a comprehensive process would be launched to enable the full, effective, and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action from now, up to and beyond 2012. This would help the COP to reach an agreed outcome and adopt a decision at its fifteenth session. Governments, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), academics, media, and the public were all highly concerned about the COP15 Climate Conference in Copenhagen, regarding it as the best opportunity to agree on a climate deal that can “save the planet from the devastating effects of climate change.”
