The Number Curriculum
The match between a task and a child's attainment level is an important facet of the quality of the child's learning experience. It is not, however, the only facet. The content of a particular task represents a crucial dimension of experience. In this chapter the content of the children's mathematics experience is examined. Additionally, relationships between groups of tasks are examined. When several tasks in the same curriculum domain are viewed in series, important features of the structure and sequence of provision may be revealed.
