ABSTRACT

This chapter will take you through the main steps to directing a play and is designed for the student director and the teacher director to use with productions, when directing a play or exploring a play from the director’s perspective. This chapter will help you to understand the role of the director and how to structure the process of getting a play up on its feet. Much of this book looks at how we work as the actor, so this chapter will look at how to work from the director’s point of view. You may choose to direct your play with a variety of different influences, in which case you can use the exercises in the earlier chapters in the book to help.
