ABSTRACT

There must be many practitioners who attend professional development courses in autism and then return to the workplace brimming with enthusiasm for new ideas, itching to have a go. Like Sarah in chapter 6, they might undertake a workplace audit, collaboratively identify priority targets and then plan for implementation, hoping to cascade good practice and initiate positive change. This process can lead to significant improvements in professional practice which, in the best-case scenario, generates wider workplace improvement and positive outcomes for clients. A range of theory, practice and research has been presented in this book to explore and substantiate this claim.
