ABSTRACT

A creative approach to teaching encourages pupils to apply wonderings and skills in varied contexts. In this chapter I explore the potential for creative connections between geography and mathematics to motivate pupils to participate in active, lively and engaging lessons. I also consider the impact that this may have on the teacher with regards to their practice and planning. The main focus is on using maths trails to foster creativity. This serves as a practical example that could either be applied directly or to many other classroom situations.
