ABSTRACT
Activities and games are an excellent way of tapping into children’s sense of fun and linking together both everyday and academic geography. They can be presented as warm-up exercises, provide the main focus for lessons linked to specific learning objectives or as a series of entry points either within or outside the framework of a normal lesson. This chapter focuses on the advantages of using games and play within geography teaching and the importance of developing starter activities and entry points for lessons.
