ABSTRACT
This last book chapter describes the theoretical framework related to the valuation of ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation, analyzes the Galápagos development history by looking at its geographical connectivity with the world and proposes an alternative production model for Galápagos, which defines its development capacity in terms of the archipelago's potential for providing ecosystem services to its population of local residents and tourists.
