Meta-Theories and Discourses of Construction
We are guessing that you feel some connection with relational constructionism and with some of the issues we have mentioned in Chapter 1 or you would not be reading this book. This immediately raises questions about what you understand by relational constructionism and why you are interested in it. We have found that it can be helpful to draw distinctions between diff ering social science perspectives, and the diff ering implications these have for the what, why, and how of inquiry. Our experience has been that it is vitally important to gain some clarity on this issue, in terms of both theory and social science perspective, not least because diff erent formalizations invite rather diff erent practices, norms, values, and justifi cations.
