A Socialist Education for Girls

In the feminist literature questions relating specifically to socialist forms of education have seldom been addressed. Our concern has been, primarily, with the inferior facilities available to girls and women in education and how these have militated against their overall intellectual development and employment opportunities. To this extent feminist work on education has taken place within a social-democratic framework which centres on the problem of equality of opportunity within capitalist society (Tawney, 1973).
