ABSTRACT
Earlier chapters of this book have discussed how different approaches to agricultural development in China and Africa can be traced back to historical, economic, social and technological factors. However, there is another important factor, namely communication with and learning from the rest of the world, and the role of external support in the history of agricultural development.
